Versailles comes North!Like the Louvre-Lens and Pompidou-Metz collaborations, the Palace of Versailles collections are on show in Arras! The Public Establishment of Versailles signed a partnership agreement with the town of Arras and the region of Nord-Pas-de-Calais early in July 2011.For a period of 10 years, the château will present part of its collections at the Museum of Fine Arts in the city, with the collections showcased through thematic exhibitions. The first of these exhibitions is entitled Roulez carrosses ! (Drive Carriages) and displays 80 pieces from the horse-drawn facility collection (carriages, paintings, sculptures, chairs, etc..) including nine royal coaches (very rarely seen at the castle). This exhibition is open to the public at the Saint-Vaast royal abbey for 18 months.
